Prompt Explanation

This prompt wants you to show a clear before-and-after. What can you do now, what will you be able to do after the programme, and why does that shift matter for the career you are building?

Winning Structure

Paragraph 1
The Gap You Have Observed

Open with an observation drawn from real experience that reveals a specific gap between who holds power over a system and who lives with its consequences. This sets up the problem your study will help you address.

What to include in your essay:

- A consistent pattern you have noticed across your work or community experience.

- The specific disconnect or gap this pattern reveals.

- A direct statement that your proposed study addresses this exact gap.

Paragraph 2
From Observer to Architect

Bring the argument back to your country's institutional needs. Show that the combination of skills you are building is rare and that this rarity is exactly what local institutions are missing.

What to include in your essay:

- The common failure pattern in how institutions are currently staffed or structured.

- Why you intend to be different from both extremes of that failure.

- The specific institutional capability your study will let you build.

Paragraph 3
What Studying Abroad Adds

Close by naming the intersection or field you intend to work in long term. Make clear that the degree is not a starting point but a continuation of work already underway.

What to include in your essay:

- The specific fields or sectors your career will sit between.

- A closing line that frames the degree as foundational rather than aspirational.

For Masters

PARAGRAPH 1
Every conversation I have had in underserved communities across many communities has confirmed the same thing: the people making decisions about digital infrastructure are rarely the ones living with the consequences of getting it wrong. My proposed study in Cybersecurity will change what I am able to contribute to that conversation.

Technique:

This paragraph opens with accumulated experience rather than a single anecdote, which signals a pattern rather than an isolated observation. The line about decision makers being removed from consequences is the essay's central tension, and naming it early gives the rest of the essay something to resolve.

Breakdown:

The phrase "every conversation" signals consistency across many encounters, not a one-off impression.

Naming the gap between decision makers and the people affected frames the problem as structural rather than personal.

The closing sentence connects the observation directly to the proposed study without delay.
