The University of Bayreuth Centre of International Excellence “Alexander von Humboldt” promotes excellent research at the University of Bayreuth (UBT) and advances the internationalisation of research and networking with the best universities worldwide. The University of Bayreuth is a public research university situated in Bayreuth, Germany. It was founded in 1975 as a campus university focusing on international collaboration and interdisciplinarity. It is broadly organized into six undergraduate and graduate faculties, with each faculty defining its own admission standards and academic programs in near autonomy. Short Term Grants (intended for stays of about 1-3 weeks duration) include the reimbursement of travel expenses between the home institution and Bayreuth as well as accommodation costs in Bayreuth. The costs will be refunded up to a maximum of 3,500 €. Short Term Grants are available to researchers regardless of their field of research.
We award Short Term Grants to individuals from abroad with challenging and innovative research projects of top academic quality through a highly competitive, strictly merit-based selection process. The all-important selection criteria are the academic excellence of both the applicant and the cooperative project.
