The University of Manchester is proud to offer awards totalling £300,000 to international students, commencing their studies in September 2021. The scholarship is open to both undergraduate and master's students.
The University of Manchester, in its present form, was created in 2004 by the amalgamation of the Victoria University of Manchester and the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST). After 100 hundred years of working closely together both institutions agreed to form a single university, and on 22 October 2004 they officially combined to form the largest single-site university in the UK. A total of ten A-level and IB scholarships will be awarded based on academic excellence. These will be open to applicants domiciled in Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Egypt, Morocco, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
These consist of ten awards of £5,000 for the first year of study with a further £5,000 aarded in the second year of study, conditional on attainment of 60% average in the first year.
Scholarships will be awarded in the form of an appropriate discount against published tuition fees.
For the purpose of these awards, students will be considered from international fee-paying students domiciled in the following countries: Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Egypt, Morocco, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Applicants for the African awards must have accepted a conditional or unconditional offer to study a full-time programme at Manchester and must submit an online scholarship application form by 12 June 2021. The application form will be emailed to all eligible offer-holders and awards will be made by 3 July 2021.
