Aim and Benefits of Undergraduate Scholarship

The University of Waterloo offers more than 170 scholarships for international students, ranging from $1,000 to $40,000.

Requirements for Undergraduate Scholarship Qualification

• Strong academic record and high grades.
• Meeting the specific grade or GPA requirements for each scholarship.
• Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time program at the University of Waterloo.
• Must have a valid Canadian study permit and be registered full-time, paying international tuition fees.
• Normally given to students entering the first term of their program.
• Must demonstrate academic excellence as per criteria set by their Faculty.
• Must meet academic progress requirements and have no outstanding probationary admission requirements.
• Normally, they should not receive foreign government or agency sponsorship concurrently or be self-funded above Faculty support levels.
• Automatically considered for awards based on the application for admission; Faculties and departments select recipients based on eligibility criteria.

• Proof of Enrollment (full-time at the University of Waterloo)
• Academic Transcripts (official, showing GPA)
• Statement of Purpose or Personal Statement
• Letters of Recommendation (typically two)
• CV or Resume
