2026-27 Royal Entomology Society Scholarship

Applications are invited for MSc studentships for the MSc Medical Parasitology & Entomology (MPE) to start in the academic year 2026-27. This scholarship has been generously funded by the Royal Entomology Society in order to support recruitment of 2 full time London-based intensive Masters students in 2026-27. Founded in 1833, the Royal Entomological Society is devoted to the study of insects and is committed to support and advance the study and practice of insect science and inspire the next generation of entomologists.

• A partial tuition fees bursary of GBP 5,000.00 towards the LSHTM Home fee rate.

Requirements for LSHTM Masters Scholarship Qualification

This scholarship is open to applicants intending to study London-based intensive MSc Medical Parasitology & Entomology at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) in 2026-27.

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

• have a strong rationale on why they would like to study the MSc programme
• be able to explain how the MSc would enable them to pursue their anticipated career path
• confirm in writing that they would not otherwise be able to pay for the proposed programme of study
• confirm upon acceptance that they agree to comply with the academic expectations of the bursary, these are:

take the following entomology-focused modules in Terms 2 and 3: 3141 (Vector Sampling, Identification and Incrimination), 3166 (Vector Biology and Vector-Parasite Interactions) and 3176 (integrated Vector Management).

undertake an entomology-focused summer project.

report to the RES as required.

complete the RES bursary impact questionnaires and requests.
