The Albukhary Scholarship Programme was developed in 2005 with the sole intention of providing a lifeline to the underprivileged through granting them access to higher education, at no cost. Open to Malaysians and International Students, the Albukhary Scholarship nurtures a community in which character building is achieved through an emphasis on community service.

Albukhary International University Undergraduate Scholarship

Aim and Benefits of Albukhary International University Undergraduate Scholarship

• The scholarship covers tuition fees, accommodation, and meal allowances.
• However, it does not cover flight tickets, EMGS, personal bond, visa processing, and other ancillary fees.

Requirements for Albukhary International University Undergraduate Scholarship Qualification

Applicants must meet the following age requirements at the time of application:

• Local applicants: 17 to 22 years old

• International applicants: 17 to 20 years old

This requirement applies to Foundation and Undergraduate programmes.

Minimum entry requirement

• Foundation in Computing – A pass in SPM or GCSE O Level or equivalent with a minimum of 5 credits inclusive of English and Mathematics
• Foundation in Arts – A pass in SPM or equivalent with a minimum of 5 credits in any subjects
• A pass in STPM or A Level or equivalent with a minimum of 3 Principal E and credits in English and Mathematics at SPM level or equivalent
• Undergraduate program – A pass in STPM/Diploma/Foundation/Matriculation/A Level or equivalent with a CGPA of 2.8 and above

Scholarships requirement

Single marital status

Household income based on the following categories:

• Category 1 (Sabah & Sarawak): RM2400 and below
• Category 2 (Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Pulau Pinang, Terengganu): RM2900 and below
• Category 3 (Selangor, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur/Putrajaya/Labuan): RM5300 and below
• Category 4 (International): USD300 and below

You are required to fulfill the English requirement to study in Albukhary International University.

There are several ways to fulfill the English requirement such as:

*Please be informed that Albukhary International University adopted a 2 years validity for IELTS/TOEFL iBT and 5 years validity for MUET – first day of course registration (Week 1 Day 1)

English speaking country: If you are from Uganda, Nigeria, Gambia, Tanzania, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Liberia, the English requirement might be waived subject to the University assessment.

English Language Preparatory Programme: You will be required to enrol into our English Language Preparatory Programme under the Language Centre if you have yet to fulfill the English requirement. This programme is designed to equip you with the preparation to sit for the English Proficiency test which is IELTS. Upon completion of this programme, you are required to sit for the English proficiency test and meet the minimum requirements as listed above.

Interview date, Process and Venue for Albukhary International University Undergraduate Scholarship

Albukhary International University will send you an offer package that will consist of:

1. Programme Offer Letter
2. Terms and Conditions of Admission
3. Document Certification Requirements
4. Passport photo guidelines

Depending on your English test result, you may also receive a Conditional Offer letter to fulfill the English requirement. You will be required to complete the English preparatory programme. Further details can be found here in English requirement section. 

* Please note that the programme’s offer is final, and the University will not entertain any request for a change of  programme.

Documents Required for Application

Before you apply, please make sure you have prepared all the relevant documents such as:

1. Original copy of IC (domestic) / Passport (International)
2. Original copy of all official transcripts, high school completion certificate and high school results including the highest qualification (Year 10, Year 11, Year 12, foundation, SPM/STPM, O Level or A Level)
3. Original copy of English proficiency test (e.g. MUET/IELTS) or Release Letter from your previous institution (if you wish to transfer to AIU)
4. Sponsorship letter (if you are sponsored by any party other than AIU)
5. Original copy of your father’s and mother’s copy of IC / passport or death certificate
6. Original copy of your father’s and mother’s income slip
7. A copy of utility bill – water & electricity bill
8. Verification letter – issued by one of the referees (the verification letter is to clarify your parent’s occupation, amount of monthly income and household living conditions. Verification Letter must be in English) 

*All documents must be translated into English if they are originally in another language (for international applicants).
