The Germaine Cox Scholarship is awarded to support and encourage exceptional talent, the Advanced LL.M. Office grants a number of partial tuition fee waivers each year to exceptional students who can demonstrate financial need.

Aim and Benefits of KU Leuven Masters Scholarship

Requirements for KU Leuven Masters Scholarship Qualification

• Before applying for this scholarship, please ensure that you have already applied for admission to the LL.M. Advanced Master's programme.
• To be eligible for admission to the LL.M. programme, you must have obtained a law degree that qualifies you to practise law (pass the bar exam) in the jurisdiction in which the degree was obtained.
• The Board of Admissions is particularly interested in students with a strong academic record and a high level of English (minimum IELTS 7, TOEFL 100 or CAE C1). You will also be asked to submit a letter of motivation and three letters of reference. View the  Advanced LL.M. admission requirements.
• In addition to your application for admission, you must also be able to demonstrate your financial need by providing documented evidence of your current income and financial situation and, if applicable that of your parent(s)/ caretaker(s) and/or partner.

Interview date, Process and Venue for KU Leuven Masters Scholarship

• Academic excellence: The candidate has a high standard of academic achievements with excellent academic results which resulted in a high Grade Point Average (GPA), as shown on the Transcript of Records. University rankings are of high significance (as reflected in the QS and THE rankings). 
• Documented evidenice of financial need - (translated) in either English, Dutch or French).
• A letter of motivation explaining why you wish to  be part of the Advanced LL.M. programme at KU Leuven, your goals in the field of legal studies and research, and your long-term and short-term career goals. 
• Three letters of recommendation from persons qualified to recommend you for postgraduate studies in law, at least two must be from a former professor of law.

Documents Required for Application

• The standard documents required for Advanced LL.M. admission. 
• Official documentation of your financial situation and, if applicable, that of your parent(s)/ caretaker(s) and/or partner. This could be in the form of bank statements or pay slips translated into English. KU Leuven do not require officially translated documents
