These scholarships help support international students coming from nominated countries, and/or those who plan to study specific programmes at the University of Otago.

Undergraduate Scholarship

Aim and Benefits of Undergraduate Scholarship

• This scholarship is payable only as a credit towards tuition fees
• Students starting their programme in semester 2 are eligible for this scholarship
• Deferral of the scholarship is not possible.

The Scholarship Terms and Conditions:

Scholarship terms and conditions

In addition to the standard Undergraduate Entrance Scholarship terms and conditions, the following provisions apply, subject to the specific provisions of the offer letter for the recipient:

• The value of the scholarship is $15,000 with a one-year tenure.
• Payment of the scholarship will be made as a credit towards tuition fees only.
• For those commencing study in semester 2 (July), half the scholarship funds ($7,500) will be released as a credit towards tuition fees, with the other half being released in semester 1 (February) of the following year.

Requirements for Undergraduate Scholarship Qualification

• Application for all International Entrance Scholarships are normally open to students who have completed secondary (high) school, or at another approved institution that grants University Entrance either overseas or within New Zealand.

And

• Are intending to enrol or have enrolled in full-time undergraduate degree-level study, or in an approved foundation diploma programme, with the objective of progressing into an undergraduate degree at the University of Otago.

In addition to the above eligibility criteria, applicants must be:

• Intending to study at the University of Otago from 100-level (first year) through to degree* attainment;
• Applying either to study at the University of Otago from a nominated country, and/or to be undertaking a specified programme of study at Otago;
• Studying on campus throughout the duration of their studies.

• Every eligible applicant must indicate in their application for study, through the student management system (eVision), that they would like to be considered for international scholarships at the University of Otago | ?t?kou Whakaihu Waka.
