This scholarship aims to financially support an asylum seeker or refugee to commence an undergraduate degree at the University of Sydney.

University of Sydney Undergraduate Scholarship

Aim and Benefits of University of Sydney Undergraduate Scholarship

• The scholarship will cover student services and amenities fees (SSAF) and tuition fees of up to $60,000 per year, for up to 3 years.

Requirements for University of Sydney Undergraduate Scholarship Qualification

You must:

• be enrolled as an international student 
• hold asylum seeker status in Australia including one of the following visas (or equivalent) at the time of application:
  • Bridging Visa A (subclass 010)
  • Bridging Visa E (subclass 050)
  • Temporary Protection Visa (Subclass 785)
  • Safe Haven Enterprise Visa (subclass 790)
  • Temporary Humanitarian Concern Visa (subclass 786) 
  • Temporary Humanitarian Stay Visa (Subclass 449)
• be commencing in an undergraduate award course.

Interview date, Process and Venue for University of Sydney Undergraduate Scholarship

• The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of a personal statement, describing the applicant’s personal circumstances.
• The selection committee will be chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education), or their nominated delegates. The chair will decide the membership of the committee, which may include the donor or their representative.
• The Scholarship will be awarded by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education), or their nominated delegates.
