CERN Mechanical Engineer (ATS-DO-2024-136-GRAP) Job 2024-2025 in Switzerland (Up to 6828 Swiss Francs per month)

As a Mechanical Engineer you will join the Accelerator & Technology Directorate Office (ATS-DO). 
In this role, you'll be playing an important role in all aspects of the FCCee-HTS4 project within the Future Circular Collider Study. 

More precisely, you will:

• Undertake the CAD design of the project's prototype and demonstrators using state of the art CAD software (Autodesk Inventor and CATIA V5); 
• Contribute the thermo-mechanical design and the design of the cryostat, using multi-physics software tools.

Your profile

Skills and/or knowledge

• CAD (inventor, CATIA)
• Prototyping (3D printing, soldering...)
• Knowledge of heat transfer, electromagnetism
• Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.

Eligibility criteria:

• You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
• You have a professional background in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics (or a related field) and have either:
  • a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;
  • or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
• You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
