China Link Scholarship Program 2025

In order to deepen the academic friendship and mutual understanding between Chinese and foreign young generation, and to build a platform for the exchange of scientific research young talents in the world, China Scholarship Council (CSC) continues to carry out China Link Short-term Scientific Exchange Scholarship Program (referred to as China Link Scholarship) in 2025.

China Link Scholarship Program

Aim and Benefits of China Link Scholarship Program

Successful applicants will receive a full scholarship from CSC during their stay in China, including tuition waiver, free on-campus accommodation, comprehensive medical insurance and monthly stipend (CNY 3,000 for general scholars; CNY 3,500 for senior scholars). 

Requirements for China Link Scholarship Program Qualification

1. Be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China and be in good health both mentally and physically.
2. Be under 45 applying for general scholars
3. Be under 50 applying for senior scholars.
4. Register as full-time student or employed as full-time academic staff at CSC’s foreign partner university by the time of application and throughout the proposed stay in China. Foreign university list please refer to Appendix 1. 
5. Have obtained admission qualification from the Chinese host university for the next intake Chinese host university list please refer to Appendix 2. 

Interview date, Process and Venue for China Link Scholarship Program

Program Scheme

1. Funding Categories
   1. General scholar: applicable to current undergraduates or graduates. 
   2. Senior scholar: applicable to current Ph. D candidates or faculties
2. Duration
   1. 1-12 months
   2. Start study in China no later than August 31, 2026.  
3. Working Language
   1. English or Chinese, depending on the program provided by the Chinese host universities. 
4. Study/Research Fields:
   1. All disciplines other than Chinese language study.

Documents Required for Application

(1) ID photo

(2) Passport Homepage: Applicant shall submit a clear scanned copy of his/her ordinary passport within validity

(3) Certificate of Highest Education: If not applicable, please upload a school letter or employment letter issued by your current foreign university.

(4) Transcripts of Highest Education. If not applicable, please upload a school letter or employment letter issued by the current f university.

(5) Study Plan: Personal Statement or Research Proposal in Chinese or English, at least 500 words.

(6) Physical Examination Record for Foreigner:       Applicants planning to stay in China for more than 6 months must submit a photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English or Chinese (Appendix 4). Applicants staying in China less than 6 months could upload a personal health statement instead.

(7) Non-criminal records report: Applicants planning to stay in China for more than 6 months must submit a photocopy of the non-criminal records report issued by the public authority at current residency. Applicants staying in China less than 6 months could upload a non-criminal records statement instead.

(8) Pre-admission Letter: pre-admission documents or invitation letter issued by the Chinese host university (optional)

(9) Papers or Articles Published (optional)

(10) Language Proficiency Certificate (optional)

(11) Other Supporting Documents (optional)

Application Deadline

How to Apply

1. Scholarship application portal opens to applicants all year round.  
   1. After obtaining admission qualification, applicants log into Chinese Government Scholarship Information System (https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/?utm_source=ScholarshipTab#/login) to complete CSC online application and upload supporting documents. Online application guide please refer to Appendix 3. 
2. Application processed by Chinese host universities. 
3. Chinese universities should submit scholarship nomination list to CSC at least 2 months before the start of study. The submission time could be flexible according to each university's enrollment and admission arrangements.
4. CSC notifies scholarship admission result to Chinese host universities. 
5. Chinese host universities notify scholarship admission results to applicants.
