Scholarship benefits is up to £3,000 for our Chinese-English Scholarship.
There are five scholarships available.
University of Essex Chinese-English Translation Scholarships Courses
Requirements for University of Essex Chinese-English Translation Scholarships Qualification
Eligibility
- Applicants must have received a conditional firm or unconditional firm offer to study full time on one of our Chinese-English Translation and Interpreting courses at the University of Essex starting in the academic year 2025-26. Courses include, but are not exclusive to
- MA Chinese-English Translation and Professional Practice
- MA Conference Interpreting and Translation (Chinese-English)
- MA Advanced Interpreting with Specialised Translation (Chinese-English)
- PG Diploma in Chinese-English Translation
- These scholarships are restricted to students who are overseas fee payers and are entirely selffunded*.
- Only one scholarship award can be made per student and the award cannot be held in conjunction with any other University of Essex scholarships.
- Successful applicants should be available for promotional activities. *Students receiving a repayable loan to fund their studies will be considered as self-funded
Students who are not eligible
The following students are NOT eligible for this scholarship regardless of meeting the above criteria:
- This scholarship award does not apply to deferred entry. Where a scholarship has been awarded to a student who subsequently defers entry to the following academic year, the award will be University of Essex Page 2 of 3 withdrawn, and the applicant will be considered again in line with the terms and conditions that apply in the new proposed year of entry.
- Students who are fully or partly sponsored.
- Current students whose first year of Postgraduate study at the University of Essex, was prior to academic year 2025-26.
- The scholarship cannot be continued for students repeating periods of study in any circumstances
Interview date, Process and Venue for University of Essex Chinese-English Translation Scholarships
Selection Process
Scholarships are awarded based on academic excellence and interview performance, and the final selection is made by a panel of academic and administrative staff of the University of Essex.
We will use the information you provide on your original course application to make our selection.
No alternative form of the scholarship is available, and the award cannot be deferred to a later year from the one for which you are admitted.
Notification
Successful candidates will be notified by end of July 2025 by our Funding Team.
You must accept your offer of the scholarship within two weeks of an offer being made, otherwise the offer will be forfeited and awarded to the next eligible candidate.
