CPIJ 2021 Summer School Scholarships for Students from Developing Countries

The CPIJ is offering scholarships to graduate students from developing countries to attend the International Justice and Victims’ Rights Summer School, to be held at the Montreal Centre for International Studies, University of Montreal (CÉRIUM), May 24 to June 11, 2021.

About Canadian Partnership for International Justice (CPIJ)

This pan Canadian partnership brings together leading Canadian academics and non-governmental actors to contribute to strengthening access to justice for victims of international crimes. Co-led by Fannie Lafontaine (Laval University) and Jayne Stoyles (Canadian Centre for International Justice), it includes 24 team members and 12 partner organizations and is hosted by Laval University. This scholarship will be used to help pay students’ tuition.


Requirements for CPIJ Summer School Scholarships Qualification

  1. Applicants must be masters or PhD students
  2. Applicants must reside in any developing countries

Application Deadline

March 29, 2021


How to Apply

Please send a file containing:

  1. A short CV3, including the list of academic and professional achievements (e.g. education, scholarships, publications, presentations at conferences);
  2. A letter of motivation specifying your research interests and justifying the benefit of participating in the summer school for the advancement of your project;
  3. A copy of the grades obtained in your current program;
  4. A proof of current enrolment in a postsecondary institution.

Complete files must be sent by email to [email protected]. The deadline to receive applications is Monday, March 29, 2021 at 5:00 PM (Montreal Time). Files must be sent as a single file in PDF format. Only complete files will be considered.

The school is bilingual (French-English). Students are expected to be fluent in French or English and to have at least a passive understanding of the other language.
