Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend Scholarship
Aim and Benefits of Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend Scholarship
Successful applicants will benefit the following:
- The RTP Stipend Scholarship provides a living allowance paid fortnightly through the University’s payroll system.
- Domestic students receiving the RTP Stipend Scholarship are also granted an RTP Fees Offset Scholarship.
- The RTP Fees Offset Scholarship fully covers the candidate’s tuition fees for the duration of the scholarship.
- No separate application is required for the RTP Fees Offset Scholarship.
- The scholarship value is $32,000 per annum.
Requirements for Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend Scholarship Qualification
Applicants are to meet the following criteria:
- Candidates must be either domestic or overseas students enrolled in an accredited Research Higher Degree (RHD) course at CQUniversity to be eligible for the RTP Scholarship.
- To qualify for the RTP Stipend, candidates must not receive income from another source that exceeds 75% of their RTP Stipend rate for general living costs during their studies.
- Income unrelated to the course of study or income not meant for supporting general living costs is not considered in the eligibility for the RTP Stipend.
- Candidates must not receive an equivalent Commonwealth scholarship designed to offset RHD tuition fees to be eligible for the RTP Fees Offset.

Selection
This is a merit-based Scholarship. A Scholarship Assessment Scale using three categories of performance will be used to inform the allocation of scholarships to eligible applicants, as follows:
- Academic achievement and writing skills (0-20 points)
- Quality of research project and alignment with CQUniversity research priority areas (0-15 points)
- Evidence of motivation, research experience and research environment (0-15 points)
