CRÉ-GRÉEA 2021-2022 Postdoctoral Research Fellowship

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the CRÉ- GRÉEA Postdoctoral Research Fellowship for research on environmental and animal ethics. The research fellowship is a collaboration between the Research Group in Environmental & Animal Ethics (GRÉEA) and the Centre de recherche en ethique (CRÉ).

Applicants whose work connects with one or more of the thematic areas of the fellowship are especially encouraged to apply.

CRÉ-GRÉEA Postdoctoral Research Fellowship

Aim and Benefits of CRÉ-GRÉEA Postdoctoral Research Fellowship

• A gross salary of $43,000 per year;
• An individual workstation, subject to public health restrictions;
• University affiliation;
• Access to the services of the university to which the fellow will be affiliated (e.g., libraries, etc.);
• Practical assistance in the organization of the stay

Requirements for CRÉ-GRÉEA Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Qualification

To be eligible for the CRÉ – GRÉEA Postdoctoral Research Fellowship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Applicants must have obtained their PhD after June, 2018, and before the start of their fellowship.
• Passive knowledge of both English and French languages.
• Applicants must demonstrate excellent academic and research abilities.

Thematic Areas

1. Fundamental normative issues in animal ethics and/or environmental ethics;
2. Practical issues related to our relationship to non-human animals and nature;
3. Scientific knowledge and epistemological approaches that can help to elucidate our relationship with non-human entities.

• An article written or published within the last three years.
• A proposal outlining the proposed research project (up to 1500 words).
