DAAD 2021 Grants for International Graduate Students (Germany)

 The International Office awards DAAD grants to international doctoral candidates and Post-docs at Leibniz University Hannover for research and teaching assistantships, as well as for doctoral degree completion. Applications are currently being received from eligible and interested students.

The Graduate Academy awards grants to doctoral candidates at Leibniz University Hannover to support them at an early stage of their doctoral studies (Exposé Scholarship) or in the final stages of completing their doctoral thesis (Completion Grant). The maximum funding period is 6 months.

About German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)

DAAD scholarship in Germany is a private, federally funded and state-funded, self governing national agency of the institutions of higher education in Germany, representing 365 German higher education institutions (100 universities and technical universities, 162 general universities of applied sciences, and 52 colleges of music and art) [2003]. Aim and Benefits of DAAD Grants

At Leibniz University Hannover, grants will be awarded on the basis of academic qualification and social needs. The funding is 450 euros per month (for up to six months)

  • Grants for research assistantships are awarded to international doctoral candidates and post-docs involved in a specific research project who are at an early stage of their doctoral studies.
  • Grants for teaching assistantships are awarded to doctoral candidates and Post-docs who are involved in teaching at Leibniz University Hannover.

Requirements for DAAD Grants Qualification

  • The research grant is available for international students.
  • Students from developing nations may be given more preference.

How to Apply

In order to be awarded an assistantship grant, an employment contract must be concluded at the respective institute. Apply using the online application forms; please refer to the application guidelines for doctoral and post-doctoral research respectively.
