Dalhousie University 2025 Travel Grant

Conference travel grants can be awarded to full-time graduate students in a master’s or doctoral thesis program. In order to be eligible, students must present a poster or paper based on the results of their graduate thesis research at a national or international scholarly meeting or conference.

You are eligible for one FGS travel grant per degree, and you must be registered in the term when applying and the term that the conference occurs. Supervisor approval must be signified by signature on the application. The maximum amount awarded is $500; this amount is subject to change.

Aim and Benefits of Travel Grant

The grant provides financial support of $500 for selected students.

Requirements for Travel Grant Qualification

• You must be a registered graduate student at Dalhousie University.
• Must apply for travel grant at least one month before the date of the conference at which you will be presenting a paper or poster. 
• You are eligible to apply for one travel grant during the course of your program.
• If you are planning to take part in an International Learning Experience, please first consult with faculty advisors and the International Centre at [email protected] prior to finalizing any international travel plans. You will be required to provide FGS with a confirmation email from the International Center indicating that all the required components (pre-departure session, registration with international SOS, emergency information form, etc) have been completed. Please visit the International Centre's website and review the information on International Learning Experiences.
