Applications are now open for the Department of Physics and Astronomy Diversity Enhancement Studentship 2025. This scholarship is open to home or EU applicants (overseas with fee waiver) from underrepresented groups, or challenging social or academic backgrounds, who are motivated to tackle, and plan to engage with, diversity enhancement in physics and astronomy.
The University of Manchester, in its present form, was created in 2004 by the amalgamation of the Victoria University of Manchester and the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST). After 100 hundred years of working closely together both institutions agreed to form a single university, and on 22 October 2004 they officially combined to form the largest single-site university in the UK. This scholarship works on a nomination basis, the lead supervisor will consider you for nomination and will support you through the process.
