Requirements for Durham University Masters Scholarship Qualification
- Must apply to a full-time Taught Master's programmes eligible for this scholarship
- Female students from one of the eligible countries listed below:
- Kazakhstan
- Uzbekistan
- Turkey
- Azerbaijan
- Albania
- Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Kosovo
- Montenegro
- North Macedonia
- Serbia
Application Deadline
April 30, 2026How to Apply
- Apply for a course by 1st April 2026
- Please ensure you have submitted an academic application, with all supporting documents (proof of English Language, academic transcripts, references etc. – correctly translated), via the postgraduate online application portal for one of the eligible programmes by midnight (GMT) 1st April 2026. If you have any issues with submitting any of these documents by the indicated deadline, please contact us via [email protected] and we will do our best to support you.
- Important: When completing your postgraduate online academic application form for your programme of study: In the section of 'Funding' please answer 'Yes' to the question 'Have your either applied or are going to apply for a scholarship?’, then select ‘British Council Women in STEM Scholarship PGT’ from the drop-down menu, and put in 30th June 2026 as the expected award date. You are not required to upload any scholarship document at this point.
- The deadline to pay the deposit to secure your place at Durham University if you receive an offer will be postponed till after the result of this scholarship is released only if you have indicated you are applying to this scholarship in your academic application form.

- Accommodation will be provided in one of three Durham University Colleges, Hatfield College, Trevelyan College or Ustinov College.
- Hatfield and Trevelyan Colleges are both home to a diverse mix of undergraduates and postgraduate students, the first being Durham's second-oldest college, and the second a historically all female college, with a strong ethos around championing and development of women. Both colleges are led by members of the Science Faculty, with Hatfield College also demonstrating a strong track record for welcoming international scholars, with its Lioness Scholarship for women from developing countries. Ustinov is a specialist postgraduate college, with a diverse community of students from all over the globe.
