The program's overall objective is to develop a regional volunteer program in which young people from ECOWAS (men and women) are united in their belief that peace and reconciliation can be used as development tools to consolidate peace in their countries and the sub-region.
The program mobilizes volunteers in West Africa and is committed to promoting ECOWAS ideals and strategies, including unity, peace, democracy, sustainable development, and regional integration. The program promotes the expertise and professional skills of community citizens for sustainable development and greater social impact under the themes of solidarity, unity, hopes, and dreams.

Aim and Benefits of ECOWAS Volunteers Programme (EVP) Training
- An initial contract for 12 months will be offered with a monthly Basic Volunteer Allowance of 247.5USD or its equivalent in local currency.
- Other allowances as provided for in the Conditions of Serviceof ECOWAS Volunteers will also be paid.
Requirements for ECOWAS Volunteers Programme (EVP) Training Qualification
Qualifications and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree, while possession of a master’s degree will be considered an added advantage.
- A minimum of five (3) years of relevant professional experience, including at least two (2) years of experience working with an international organization
- Winning mindset, Optimistic, Results-focused, Commitment to volunteerismand Client approach
- Perfect command of the English language (written and spoken) is mandatory. - Knowledge of any other official language of ECOWAS (French or Portuguese) will beconsidered an asset/advantage.
- The position is open to citizens of all ECOWAS Member States aged not more than 35 years by the date of recruitment.
- This position is considered a non-family International ECOWAS Volunteer position.
- International ECOWAS Volunteers generally, cannot serve in their own country of origin.
- However, Nigerian applicants with specialized skills will be considered.
Interview date, Process and Venue for ECOWAS Volunteers Programme (EVP) Training
Applications must include:
- A signed letter of application/motivation addressed to the Director, EYSDC, Monrovia, Liberia.
- A detailed Curriculum Vitae highlighting specific skills and experiences of the candidate.
- Copies of certificates, diplomas, and work certificates (originals or certified true copies will be required for sighting before recruitment).
- Copy of international passport or National Identity Card - A police clearance certificate of less than three months (will be required before assumptionof duty).
