European Central Bank (ECB) Scholarship for Women 2026

European Central Bank (ECB) is offering grants of €10,000 each, to 15 women pursuing postgraduate studies in the fields of economics, statistics, engineering and computing. 

Are you a woman who has just enrolled, or about to enrol, in a master’s degree in one of the above-mentioned fields of study at a university or business school at a European academic institution and facing a funding gap? If so, this scholarship could be for you!

The funding is intended to help you finance your studies. If your application is successful, you will also have the opportunity to gain insights into the ECB’s central banking and banking supervision work and to learn about the career opportunities offered. ECB want to change the lives of the women selected for this scholarship. Our goal is to support their education and boost their careers, both in general and in the areas of central banking and banking supervision. The scholarship is specifically designed to help women from low-income backgrounds, who are EU nationals, to pursue postgraduate studies in the fields of economics, statistics, engineering and computing.

Requirements for European Central Bank (ECB) Master's Scholarship Qualification

• You are a woman
• You are an EU National
• You have just enrolled, or about to enrol, in a master’s course in economics, statistics, engineering or computing at a university or business school at a European academic institution. (please see the list of examples of relevant fields of study)
• You are facing a funding gap that may prevent you from pursuing your studies

Interview date, Process and Venue for European Central Bank (ECB) Master's Scholarship

• The application process for the 2026-27 academic year will be open until 06 May 2026.
• ECB expect to hold online interviews in June 2026 and to inform the successful candidates by July 2026.

In the application form you will need to:

• explain the motivation behind your studies and indicate your career aspirations;
• outline your current funding situation.

You will also need to submit the following supporting documentation:

• proof of acceptance, or preliminary acceptance, on a master’s course in one of the relevant fields of study for the 2026-27 academic year at a European academic institution.
• official transcripts of your undergraduate qualifications, your academic record and, if applicable, evidence of your highest level of completed studies.

Please be informed that incomplete applications can not be taken into consideration.

   • proof of acceptance or enrollment in a master’s degree program in Economics, Computing, Statistics or Engineering at a European university or business school (please find the  list of examples of relevant fields of study on our website),
   • official transcripts of your undergraduate academic record obtained at an academic institution 

Incomplete applications will be not be taken into consideration for the scholarship
