FameLab Poland 2026

The University of Silesia in Katowice invites students, PhD students, and PhD holders to participate in the FameLab science communication competition. The participants' task is to fascinate the jury and the audience with their scientific project in just 3 minutes.

The selected semi-finalists will take part in expert training in science communication. The winner of the national final will receive a cash prize and will represent Poland during the international final of the competition in December 2026.

Aim and Benefits of FameLab Poland PhD Scholarship

• The prize pool for the top three participants is a minimum of PLN 20,000.

Requirements for FameLab Poland PhD Scholarship Qualification

• Students, doctoral school participants, and PhD holders.

Interview date, Process and Venue for FameLab Poland PhD Scholarship

Up to 12 participants selected in the semi-finals will take part in the national final of the competition.

Participants have 3 minutes to present a chosen scientific topic in English, without the possibility of using a presentation.

Presentations are assessed based on content, clarity of message, and the participant's charisma (the so-called 3C rule – content, clarity, charisma).

The top three winners will receive financial prizes. The winner of the national final will represent Poland at the international final at CERN in Geneva.

• For whom: Students, doctoral school participants, and PhD holders.
• Application deadline: Applications are accepted until May 10, 2026.
• National final and training: June 8-9, 2026, Katowice.
• Prizes: The prize pool for the top three participants is a minimum of PLN 20,000.
