Flinders University 2022 General Sir John Monash Foundation

Unlike other scholarships, our John Monash Scholars are not limited by age, discipline, or which countries they can consider studying in.

John Monash Scholars are granted lifetime membership to the John Monash Foundation Leadership Academy. The Academy has been designed to harness the potential and foster the leadership of all Scholars, building up their professional profiles, documenting their achievements and creating a platform that will enhance their engagement within the community across all sectors: Government, business, education, engineering, arts and more. The Leadership Academy is funded to exclusively ensure that our Scholars can collectively work on responding to challenges and addressing the most complex national and global issues of our time.

About Flinders University

Flinders University is a public university in Adelaide, South Australia. Founded in 1966, it was named in honour of navigator Matthew Flinders, who explored and surveyed the South Australian coastline in the early 19th century. Aim and Benefits of General Sir John Monash Foundation

  • Annual stipend of $75,000 a year for up to 3 years of postgraduate study (depending on the length of the degree at a full-time study load).
  • Support to get to the location of your postgraduate study overseas from Australia.
  • Lifelong access to the Leadership Academy network of Alumni and extended community; including support, mentoring, professional development and opportunities for collaboration amongst Scholars.

Requirements for General Sir John Monash Foundation Qualification

  • Australian citizenship.
  • A completed degree from an Australian higher education institution (or due to complete a degree before you commence your Scholarship).
  • Plan to commence a Masters or PhD at an overseas institution the year after being awarded the Scholarship.

Interview date, Process and Venue for General Sir John Monash Foundation

  • Demonstrated excellence in your field.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential or proven ability.
  • A genuine commitment and motivation to contribute to Australia.
