Flinders University 2023 NT Health Scholarship

The Flinders NT Health Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students studying Flinders University courses delivered in the Northern Territory. The scholarship has been established through a generous initial donation from Professor Jonathan Craig and contributions from the community.

About Flinders University

Flinders University is a public university in Adelaide, South Australia. Founded in 1966, it was named in honour of navigator Matthew Flinders, who explored and surveyed the South Australian coastline in the early 19th century. Aim and Benefits of Flinders NT Health Scholarship

Each scholarship will have a value of $5,000 per annum paid in equal instalments after the census date of each semester. Two scholarships will be available per year for the duration of the funding.


Requirements for Flinders NT Health Scholarship Qualification

Applicants must:

  • Be an Australian citizen; and
  • Be enrolled in one of the following courses:
    • Bachelor of Paramedicine
    • Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Master of Remote Health Practice
    • Doctor of Medicine

Of the two scholarships available per year, one will be reserved for students who meet the following additional criteria:

  • Are of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander decent and be accepted as an Australia Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander by the community in which he or she lives or has lived; and
  • identify as an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

Part-time recipients will be paid pro-rata.

Interview date, Process and Venue for Flinders NT Health Scholarship

Selection Criteria

The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of demonstrated contribution to the community.

Northern Territory residents (students who have lived in the Northern Territory for a minimum of 5 years) will be prioritised. Following this, students who have a permanent home address in regional or rural Australia will be prioritised.

Selection of the candidate(s) will be made by a Rural and Remote Health Northern Territory panel and Academic and Student Services.
