The Adelaide PHN Primary Care Masters Scholarship has been generously funded by Adelaide PHN to support students pursuing a Masters degree by Coursework in a primary health discipline at Flinders University. Adelaide PHN, the local Primary Health Network (PHN) for the Adelaide region, is committed to shaping the health system to deliver better outcomes for vulnerable people and a healthier Adelaide.

Flinders University Masters Scholarship

Aim and Benefits of Flinders University Masters Scholarship

• The scholarship will have a value of up to $10,000, to be paid in equal instalments after the census date of each semester. Three scholarships will be awarded.

Requirements for Flinders University Masters Scholarship Qualification

Applicants for the Scholarship must:

• be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or humanitarian resident; and
• normally be enrolled full-time in a Masters degree by coursework in a primary health discipline at Flinders University’s metropolitan Adelaide campuses; and
• be able to demonstrate financial hardship.

*Scholarships are available to part-time students in exceptional circumstances, which include (but are not limited to) disability, illness or carer responsibilities. Part-time scholarship recipients will receive the same annual value as full-time scholarship recipients.

Interview date, Process and Venue for Flinders University Masters Scholarship

• The scholarship will be awarded based on financial need and the applicant’s demonstrated commitment to primary care. Specifically, preference will be given to applicants who have attained a prior degree and/or worked in primary care, including but not limited to: general practices, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services, community based allied health, nursing, maternal and child health, sexual health, drug and alcohol, mental health and urgent care services.
• Preference will also be given to South Australia-based students.
• Selection will be undertaken by a panel comprising representatives from the College of Nursing and Health Sciences and College of Medicine and Public Health in conjunction with Student Finance and Scholarships.
