The Hearing Australia Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Master of Audiology Scholarship was established in 2017. The scholarship will recognise and support Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander students enrolled in the Master of Audiology at Flinders University.
One new scholarship will be available each year subject to funding. The scholarship is valued at $15,000 over two years.
The scholarship has been established through the generous support of Hearing Australia.
Flinders University is a public university in Adelaide, South Australia. Founded in 1966, it was named in honour of navigator Matthew Flinders, who explored and surveyed the South Australian coastline in the early 19th century. $12,000 stipend paid in instalments after the census date of each semester. Recipients will be paid $2,000 a semester in the first year of study and $4,000 a semester in the second year of study.
A one week remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Services Outreach trip in Year 2 up to the value of $3000 paid by Hearing Australia for the purpose of accompanying Hearing Australian Audiologists. Trip includes air travel, accommodation and living expenses arranged by Hearing Australia at its discretion.

The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit. Scholarship selection will be made in accordance with approved University procedures.
A separate scholarship application is not required, an application for a course is considered as an application for scholarship.
