Fordham University 2022 International Student Scholarships for Undergraduate Students

Fordham University commits significant funds to support scholarships. Awards are made on a competitive basis taking into consideration academic and performance profiles, leadership, and other factors.

These four-year scholarships may be received for up to eight semesters (fall and spring only). The first five scholarships below are the most competitive. They are awarded to our top applicants upon admission.

About Fordham University

When John Hughes, coadjutor bishop (later archbishop) of New York, established Fordham as St. John’s College on June 24, 1841, he considered it a “daring and dangerous undertaking”—not least because he initially lacked the funds to purchase the land where he saw a great university taking root. But he persevered. He understood instinctively that education is the key to first-class citizenship for immigrants and to success for all. Aim and Benefits of Maurice J. and Carolyn Dursi Cunniffe Presidential Scholarship

This scholarship augments gift aid from all sources to cover the full tuition cost each year (fees not included) for courses taken as a traditional undergraduate student at Fordham. The scholarship will be adjusted for only one-half of other non-tuition-specific outside resources or scholarships. The remaining half may be used for additional educational expenses.

The awards also cover the average cost of a double room or actual charges, whichever is less (excluding meal plans and fees), if the student lives on campus.


Requirements for Maurice J. and Carolyn Dursi Cunniffe Presidential Scholarship Qualification

The Presidential Scholarship is awarded to entering traditional first-year students who generally rank in the top 1 to 2 percent in their high school class. The Presidential Scholarship is awarded to the top 20 admitted students each year. 

The scholarship is awarded on the basis of excellent academic achievement in high school, test scores (if submitted), and personal characteristics.

Excellence in Theatre Scholarship

Requirements for Fordham Recognition Scholarship Qualification

The Fordham Recognition Scholarship is awarded to students with outstanding academic records who have also received one of the following designations: National Merit Semifinalist, National Hispanic Scholar, or National African American Recognition Program Scholar, who are entering first-year students, and are in the top 3% of our admitted student pool as defined by our  holistic admission review process.

Dean's Scholarship

Aim and Benefits of Dean's Scholarship

The scholarship is an annual award of $15,000 for courses taken as a traditional undergraduate student at Fordham.


Requirements for Dean's Scholarship Qualification

The Dean’s Scholarship is awarded to entering traditional first years on the basis of having attained a solid A or A- average, high academic performance in a competitive curriculum, and above 1490 on a 1600 scale or its equivalent on standardized testing (if submitted). (Note: This number represents the minimum score converted to the new SAT scale.)

Recipients are among the top 10 percent of all admitted students.

Aim and Benefits of Loyola Scholarships

The Loyola Scholarship ranging from $1,000 to $12,500 is an annual award which will be applied toward tuition charges for courses taken as a traditional undergraduate student at Fordham.


Requirements for Loyola Scholarships Qualification

These scholarships are awarded to entering traditional first-year and transfer students who show high academic performance and leadership ability and have not been offered one of the scholarships described above.
