Hamburglobal Funding Program 2025 at University of Hamburg

The Hamburglobal funding program supports University of Hamburg students who would like to go abroad during their studies by providing monthly subsidies of €350 to €550 to cover living expenses (country-dependent, max. 3 months; 6 months for two-semester stays; monthly subsidy rates 2025; rates 2026). Funding is available for study abroad, internships, language courses, technical/specialist courses, and for students who want to prepare their final thesis abroad.

Aim and Benefits of Hamburglobal Funding Program

€350 to €550 to cover living expenses (country-dependent, max. 3 months; 6 months for two-semester stays; monthly subsidy rates 2025; rates 2026).

Requirements for Hamburglobal Funding Program Qualification

All students enrolled at the University of Hamburg and who want to complete their degree at the University of Hamburg may apply (visiting and exchange students are not eligible). Students must be enrolled at the time of application.

Interview date, Process and Venue for Hamburglobal Funding Program

A committee comprised of academic staff members and students at the University of Hamburg select Hamburglobal scholarship recipients. The following criteria are applied during selection:

• completeness of application
• academic achievement
• extracurricular qualifications and general personal criteria such as voluntary service, political, social, cultural, or athletic activities
• knowledge of the language of instruction or work, if applicable
• relevance of host country or institution
