Japan Youth Summit 2026

Japan Youth Summit (JYS) is an international program organized by Youth Break the Boundaries (YBB), dedicated to empowering young leaders to take an active role in shaping a sustainable future. As a prestigious platform, JYS brings together youth from across nations, cultures, and backgrounds under the spirit of “Innovate for Tomorrow.”

At the heart of the summit lies the Social Project Competition, where participants design and present innovative projects that aim to create real social impact. These projects are directly connected to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a primary focus on SDG 4 (Quality of Education), SDG 8 (Inclusive Economic Development), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 13 (Climate Change).

With the 2026 theme, “Innovation Beyond Borders: Building the Future through Collaboration” JYS continues its mission of nurturing young changemakers, celebrating diversity, and building global networks that transcend borders.

The Japan Youth Summit program is held to achieve the following objectives:

1. Build the character of youth leadership.
2. Build the confidence of the youth through competition.
3. Sharpen up the ability to see and take advantage of opportunities.
4. Build the existence of the youth at the international level.
5. Train the spirit of collaboration to actively contribute to building the country.
6. Create a robust network and lasting connections among YBB alumni to ensure the continuity of the program for years to come.

Requirements for Japan Youth Summit Fellowship Qualification

The Japan Youth Summit is open to all young leaders who meet the following requirements:

• Age Requirement: The Japan Youth Summit is open to all young leaders who meet the following requirements:
  • Participants must be between 15–35 years old.
  • Delegates under 18 are advised to be accompanied by a guardian during their journey to ensure a smooth immigration process.
• Language Proficiency:
  • The summit will be conducted in English (presentations, discussions, and judging).
  • Applicants are not required to provide TOEFL/IELTS scores.
  • Fluency is not mandatory, but participants should have basic English communication skills and the confidence to express their ideas.
• Commitment to Positive Change:
  • Open to youth passionate about leadership, innovation, sustainability, and social impact.
  • Applicants must not be affiliated with any extremist or violent organizations.
• Global Participation:
  • Open to applicants from all nationalities, cultures, and academic/professional backgrounds.

Application Deadline

How to Apply

• Open the website
  • Go to japanyouthsummit.com (or the official registration page provided)
• Choose a registration type
  • Select Self-Funded or Fully-Funded depending on the registration period and your preference.
• Create your account
  • Enter your full name and an active email address (personal email recommended).
  • Create a strong password you can remember.
  • Click Sign Up to register your account.
• Sign in
  • After signing up, log in with the email and password you just created.
• Check your dashboard
  • On the dashboard you will see your registration status (Self-Funded or Fully-Funded) and whether your submission form is complete.
• Open the Submission form
  • Go to Submission → Edit Submission and complete these sections:
    • Personal details
    • Professional profile
    • Entry information
    • Miscellaneous (includes essay upload and theme selection)
• The essay and theme selection are used to place you into a project group if your participation is confirmed.
• Review carefully
  • Double-check every field before saving. Save & continue as you progress.
• Preview & Payment
  • Go to the Preview section to review your entire submission.
  • Proceed to Make Payment (if applicable) and wait until payment status shows Success.
• Final Submission
  • After payment shows Success, return to Submission and click Submit to complete your registration.
