Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine is offering Harriette Kelso Scholarship to nationals of Sierra Leone or Tanzania who are also ordinarily domiciled in Sierra Leone or Tanzania and applying for the Professional Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.

Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) Postgraduate Scholarship

Aim and Benefits of Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) Postgraduate Scholarship

One scholarship worth up to £14,000 is available which will include:

• Course Fees of £6,495 
• Up to £2,000 towards return flights 
• A total stipend of up to £5,500 to cover the cost of a UK Standard Visitor Visa, health insurance and living costs

Requirements for Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) Postgraduate Scholarship Qualification

• Applicants must be nationals of Sierra Leone or Tanzania who are also ordinarily domiciled in Sierra Leone or Tanzania.
• Applicants should have a recognised medical degree with two years post-graduate clinical experience.
• For students applying to study on the Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene for September 2026 entry.
• Should have a conditional offer for the Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.

Applicants must submit a completed scholarship application form to be considered for this award. If you have already received an offer, you will be sent a link to the scholarship application form via email. If you are still to apply and receive your offer, then you will find the link to the scholarship form in your Conditional Offer letter.

In the 'Your Statement' section of the scholarship application form you must demonstrate the following in a maximum of 700 words: 

• That you are a Sierra Leonean or Tanzanian national who is ordinarily domiciled in Sierra Leone or Tanzania. 
• Explain your academic or research goals in connection with the Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. 
• Clearly demonstrate the impact your studies will have to support your career, reducing health inequality and providing leadership in Sierra Leone or Tanzania.
