Aim and Benefits of Malthus Classics Scholarship

Scholarship provides up to $5,000 towards tuition fees

Requirements for Malthus Classics Scholarship Qualification

• Applicants must be current full-time students at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.
• Applicants must be majoring in Classical Studies, Latin, or Greek.
• Applicants must be intending to enrol in their second or third year of undergraduate study, or studying towards an Honours degree in one of the above subjects.

Interview date, Process and Venue for Malthus Classics Scholarship

The scholarship is open to full-time students majoring in Classical Studies, and/or Latin, and/or Greek, who intend to enrol in their second or third year of an undergraduate degree, or in the first year of an Honours degree, in Classics, Latin, or Greek, at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.

Recipients are chosen on the basis of academic merit and their passion for the subject. Financial hardship will be taken into secondary consideration when choosing a recipient. Applicants may be domestic or international students.

Documents Required for Application

• Applicants should submit a personal statement detailing their passion and enthusiasm for Classics, and outlining the impact that the scholarship will have on them.
• Applicants intending to enrol in an Honours degree should provide an overview of their proposed thesis.
• Complete the Financial Information section in the application.

Application Deadline

How to Apply

A completed online application must be submitted by 4.30 pm on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Any required supporting documentation (including references) must also be received by 4.30 pm on the closing date in order for the application to be considered.
