Are you a new student starting your course at Middlesex this year? Then you could be eligible to apply for The Professor Malcolm Sargeant Scholarship.

This Scholarship was donated by the Professor Malcolm Sargeant Charitable Trust, which was set up in memory of Professor Malcolm Sargeant, a Professor at Middlesex. Professor Sargeant was the first of his family to go to university, and this changed his life and his future. As a legacy to him and his life the Professor Malcolm Sargeant Charitable Trust supports future students to achieve their goals by helping with access to a university education.

Aim and Benefits of Middlesex University Professor Malcolm Sargeant Scholarship

This Scholarship is for the academic year 2023/2024 and is to the value of £2,000. It will be distributed in 3 instalments throughout the year and is available to a first year undergraduate studying any subject. (As the Scholarship is payable in instalments, then payment of subsequent Scholarship instalments may be dependent on continued study at Middlesex and the Trustees reserve the right to withdraw the Scholarship if this is no longer the case.)

Requirements for Middlesex University Professor Malcolm Sargeant Scholarship Qualification

If you match the criteria below then you are eligible to complete this application form and apply for the Scholarship.

• An incoming first year undergraduate student. (joining the University in Sept/Oct 2023)
• Studying any subject at undergraduate level.
• A resident of England or Wales.
• Priority will be given to those who are the first in their generation to go to university.
• Priority will be given to those who can demonstrate financial hardship and the impact this Scholarship will have on their studies.
• The Scholarship will be conditional on the recipient both accepting and starting their course - if the nominee does not start their course then the conditional offer of the Scholarship will be retracted.
