The Milton Fisher Scholarship is a four-year renewable scholarship open to exceptionally Innovative and Creative high school juniors and seniors, and first-time college freshmen.

About Milton Fisher

Milton Fisher was born and educated in New York City and made his home in Connecticut from 1960 until his death in 2001. He was an attorney and an investment banker who also taught a unique course for adults called "Applied Creativity" for over 25 years. The popular class focused less on creativity as expressed in the arts (as it is often understood), and more on helping people be more creative in all aspects of their lives, developing creative problem-solving skills and innovative approaches to challenges that they faced individually, or that faced their community. Milton Fisher Scholarship for Innovation and Creativity

Aim and Benefits of Milton Fisher Scholarship for Innovation and Creativity

We anticipate selecting 5-8 scholarship recipients each year. Financial need will not affect the selection of recipients. However, the amount of any award, ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 per year, renewable for four years, will be determined by the financial need of the recipient.

Requirements for Milton Fisher Scholarship for Innovation and Creativity Qualification

Applicants must meet one of the following academic year criteria:

• Currently a high school junior or senior, or
• Currently a first-time college student in the first year of an undergraduate degree program
• Anyone else planning to start the first year of an undergraduate degree in the next fall or spring semester after the scholarship deadline

Applicants must also be:

• A Connecticut or New York City metro area resident who plans to attend, or is attending an institution of higher education anywhere in the United States, or
• A resident of any part of the U.S. who plans to attend, or is attending an institution of higher education in Connecticut or the New York City metro area
