Newcastle University is pleased to offer 16 partial Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships to assist EU students to study an undergraduate degree or postgraduate taught Master’s degree.

Newcastle University (Officially, the University of Newcastle upon Tyne) is a public research university located in Newcastle upon Tyne in the North-East of England. The university can trace its origins to a School of Medicine and Surgery (later the College of Medicine), established in 1834, and to the College of Physical Science (later renamed Armstrong College), founded in 1871. Requirements for Newcastle University Vice-Chancellor's Excellence Scholarships Qualification

To be considered for awards applicants must:

  • Be domiciled in an EU member state.
  • Be assessed as international for fee purposes.
  • Have been offered a place to study on an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate taught course (including MRes) at the University’s Newcastle city centre campus for the 2024/25 academic year.
  • Already have or expect to receive the equivalent of an upper second class UK honours degree or above for postgraduate awards and a minimum of AAB at A level or equivalent for undergraduate awards.
  • Eligible candidates will be assessed according to evidence of academic ability, evidence of commitment to studies and quality of application
