The Northern Territory Medical Program Bursary has been established to provide financial assistance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students enrolled in the Northern Territory Medical Program at Flinders University.

About Flinders University

Aim and Benefits of Northern Territory Medical Program Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Bursary

Each Bursary has a value of $20,000 per year for four years.


Requirements for Northern Territory Medical Program Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Bursary Qualification

An applicant must:

  • Be of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent and be accepted as an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander  by the community in which he or she lives or has lived; and;
  • Be an Australian citizen; and
  • Be enrolled as a full-time student in the Flinders University Northern Territory Medical Program; and
  • Be able to demonstrate financial need.

Selection Criteria

The Bursaries will be awarded on the basis of financial need as determined by the Northern Territory Medical Program Bursary Committee.  Applicants will be ranked according to demonstrated financial need by the Committee which will be co-chaired by the Associate Dean of Flinders NT and the Director of the Indigenous Pathways.

Applications should be submitted online through the Flinders University Student Information System. Applicants will need to login and navigate to the My Scholarships tab to submit an application. Please read the how to apply page and ensure all of your personal details are up-to-date in Student Two before applying as you will be assessed using the information in the Student System, including, ATSI status home and semester address, citizenship etc.
