We have a minimum of 13 PhD funded studentship awards available for entry September 2022. These are for 3.5 years and include full UK fees and a living allowance of £15,609 (based on the current UKRI rates).

ONE Planet offers a cohort-based doctoral training partnership at Northumbria and Newcastle Universities. The Natural and Environmental Research Council (NERC) funds the partnership.
Ensuring that students are trained in key skills and the requisite knowledge base means that ONE Planet partners span industry, regulatory authorities to government with dedicated placements aligned with the Government's Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund - aiming to bring together the UK's world-leading research with business - clean growth and the knowledge economy.

Requirements for Northumbria University PhD Scholarship Qualification
- Applicant must have or expect to gain a First Class or high 2:1 Honours degree or international equivalent in a relevant subject.
- Applicants must have excellent analytical skills and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- All international applicants (including the EU) are welcome to apply.
- Applications from under-represented groups and requests for flexible study (e.g. part-time) are welcomed.
