Application for Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program for Egyptians to Study Abroad 2026 is Open.

Through the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program, Orascom Construction provides fully funded scholarships for Egyptian students to pursue bachelor’s degree programs at prestigious universities in the United States in fields that will promote the economic prosperity of Egypt.

The Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program is granted to selected students to pursue their bachelor’s degree in one of the following U.S. Universities:

• Harvard University
• Stanford University
• University of Chicago
• University of Pennsylvania
• Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

The scholarship covers:

• University fees
• Health insurance
• Educational materials
• Living allowance and travel expenses, among others benefits.

Requirements for Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program Undergraduate Scholarship Qualification

Undergradute Applicants

Successful candidates should:

• Meet The Eligibility Criteria.
• Plan to study in the United States in the year 2027.
• Be Egyptian nationals, who are residents of Egypt (preference will be given to non-holders of dual nationality).
• Be committed to return to Egypt for two years directly after completing their bachelor’s degree.
• Preference is given to applicants who have not resided outside of Egypt and/or have not lived more than 2 years abroad.

Graduate Applicants

Successful candidates should:

• Meet ‎The Eligibility Criteria.
• Plan to study in the United States in the year 2027.
• Be Egyptian nationals, who are residents of Egypt (preference will be given to non-holders of dual nationality).
• Be committed to return to Egypt for two years directly after completing their master's degree.
• Preference is given to applicants who have not resided outside of Egypt and/or have not lived more than 2 years abroad.

Interview date, Process and Venue for Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program Undergraduate Scholarship

•  Preference will be given to candidates who have not lived, worked, or studied abroad for more than two years. The Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program is only granted to the list of endorsed universities listed above.
• Selection as a nominee for the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program does not guarantee university acceptance. Nominated students should be ready to start their university applications by October 2026.
• Only selected nominees will receive support from the scholarship advisors in applying to the endorsed U.S. universities listed above. If nominated for the scholarship, the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program award will be made once university acceptance is obtained.
• Students completing their grade 11 by the time of application deadline (July 31, 2026) and students completing their grade 12 by the application deadline (July 31, 2026) are both eligible to apply for the undergraduate scholarship program, provided that they start their first year of bachelor studies as freshmen in August 2027.

Schedule of Events

• July 31st, 2026: Deadline for submitting online applications with all supporting documents.
• August - September 2026: Selection of semi-finalists and personal interviews at Orascom Construction.
• September 2026: Notification of the nominated applicants.
• October 2026: Program orientation for nominated recipients.
• October 2026-April/May 2027: U.S. university applications stage (involving Amideast's advising support) and university placement stage.
• July 2027: Award Ceremony at Orascom Construction for awarded recipients.
• July – August 2027: Travel arrangements and pre-departure orientation.
• August – September 2027: Departure of awarded recipients to the United States.

Documents Required for Application

Undergraduate Application

Submit a complete application form and upload the required list of documents:

• Application form: Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Undergraduate Application
• Resume
• Copy of test scores (SAT I or ACT) and (TOEFL iBT® or IELTS)
• Copy of latest transcripts
• Copy of grade 12 certificate or Thanaweyya Amma certificate, if available (Students completing their grade 11 by the time of application deadline (July 31, 2026) are only required to submit their latest transcripts).
• Two recommendation letters.
• Proof of extracurricular activities.

Graduate Application

Submit a complete application form and upload the required list of documents:

• Application form: Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Graduate Application
• Resume
• Copy of test scores (GRE or GMAT/ GMAT Focus) & TOEFL iBT ® (Taken within 2 years)
• Copy of bachelor’s degree transcripts
• Copy of graduation certificate
• Two recommendation letters
• Proof of military service completion, exemption or postponement for male applicants only
