The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) is responsible for building and maintaining national roads across the country. We also offer a limited number of scholarship awards to help young learners who would like to grow their skills and achieve success.
Scholarship programme was developed to give financial support to South African learners at registered South African schools from Grade 08 to Grade 12, irrespective of their subject choices.

Aim and Benefits of SANRAL Scholarship Programme College School
The SANRAL scholarship covers:
- School fees and boarding school fees (where applicable)
- School and sports uniforms (where applicable)
- Books and stationery (where applicable)
- Reputable school Transport (where applicable)
- Extra lessons (Only Maths and Science)
- Registration (where applicable)
- Access to the Wellness Programme.
Requirements for SANRAL Scholarship Programme College School Qualification
To qualify you must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be registered at an endorsed South African school
- Be applying for grades 8 to 12
- Meet a minimum overall academic average of 60%
- Have a total household income of less than R550,000 per year
- Complete an online application in full and upload all the necessary supporting documents which are required

LETTERS OF MOTIVATION
- From your parents
- From your (2 pages): Tell us about yourself and explain why you would like to receive a SANRAL scholarship.
- From your school
CERTIFIED DOCUMENT COPIES
- Your June academic results
- Your ID document or birth certificate (you must be a South African citizen)
- ID documents of your parents/legal guardian
IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATION
- Proof of income should not be older than 3 months from the date of submission.
- All copies must be certified as true copies within 3 months of submission.
- If supported by a guardian, the death certificate(s) of the parent(s) or a letter from Social Services must be included.
- Include proof of registration for sibling(s) studying at a tertiary institution.
- If your family is fostering a child, please include the court decree.
- Marriage certificate of the applicant’s parents (if married), and the applicant’s marriage certificate (if applicable).
- Only fully completed application forms will be accepted.
