Requirements for Skoltech Master of Science and PhD Scholarship program Qualification
To be eligible for Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology Scholarship in Russia, applicants are expected to meet the following conditions:
- Applicants must be international students
- Applicants must enrol for Master of Science and PhD programs
- Applicants must be ready to study in full-time degree program at the institute
- Applicants applying for M.Sc program must start Admission plan 2023/24
- Applicants applying for PhD program must start Admission plan 2023/24
- Applicants must have proof of English Language proficiency
- For Master’s programs: An appropriate bachelor’s or specialist degree or its equivalent, from an accredited university
- For Doctoral programs: An appropriate master’s or specialist degree or its equivalent, from an accredited university.
Successful applicants have generally received previous education and training in fields relevant to our programs, including:
- Computer science, computer engineering, computational mathematics, mathematics & applied mathematics, informatics, etc
- Physics, applied physics
- Chemistry, chemical engineering
- Biology, molecular biology, bio-engineering, biochemistry, biophysics, bioinformatics, systems biology
- Materials science and engineering
- Aerospace science and engineering, astrophysics
- Mechanical engineering
- Petroleum and gas engineering, geophysics, geology, geological engineering

The application includes the following documents: a CV, motivation letter, two letters of recommendation, TOEFL/IELTS score report (if applicable), diploma and academic transcript (if applicable). Applicants who do not have a proof of English proficiency may take the English language proficiency test during a Selection Weekend at Skoltech.
