This scholarship was founded in 1946 from a bequest of £35,000 from Dr WM Strong of Port Moresby, with the aim of encouraging education and research in subjects relevant to the particular needs of the then territory of Papua.

This scholarship is tenable for the CRICOS-registered duration of your study, subject to satisfactory academic performance.
Requirements for University of Sydney Masters Scholarship Qualification
- be a citizen of Papua New Guinea
- have an unconditional offer of to study a Master of Agriculture and Environment, Master of Public Health, Master of Global Health, Master of Education or Master of Social Work
- have applied for admission in Semester 1 and received an unconditional offer of admission by 31 October in the previous year
- have an Australian bachelor's degree with outstanding results, as deemed by the University of Sydney.
