• $32,650 pa + tuition fees at domestic rate.

Requirements for UC Doctoral Scholarship PhD Scholarship Qualification

• There are no citizenship or residency requirements for this scholarship.
• The scholarships are tenable by students engaged in study for a research doctoral degree.

How to Apply

• Applicants must have submitted an application for admission in a research doctoral degree programme at Te Whare W?nanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury before the closing date for scholarship applications.

Two application rounds each year:

1. May - for students planning to start before end of 2026; opens 20 March, closes 15 May.
2. October - for students planning to start in 2027 before 1st July 2027; opens August 2026, closes October 2026.
