UniSC LGBTIQA+ Bursary 2026

University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC) has a commitment to diversity and inclusion and is a community which recognises and embraces diversity among our staff, students and community partnerships. The University is focused on the inclusion of sexually and gender diverse identities, including but not limited to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer and asexual (LGBTIQA+). Offered for the first time in Study Period 2, 2023, the UniSC LGBTIQA+ Bursary provides financial support to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer and asexual (LGBTIQA+) students enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate programs at UniSC.

The bursary is intended to recognise the efforts of a current student who contributes to an inclusive culture and assists in promoting awareness and understanding of issues that may affect people of diverse genders and sexualities.

Aim and Benefits of UniSC Undergraduate Scholarship

• A$1,500

Requirements for UniSC Undergraduate Scholarship Qualification

• Identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer* and asexual community (LGBTIQA+). *In this context queer is used as an umbrella term to describe people of diverse genders and sexualities
• Undergraduate or postgraduate students enrolled in any program at any UniSC campus
• Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 5.0
• Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen, Permanent Australian Humanitarian Visa holder or Permanent Resident of Australia, International Students

Interview date, Process and Venue for UniSC Undergraduate Scholarship

• Academic merit
• Demonstrated commitment to promoting awareness and understanding of issues that may affect people of diverse genders and sexualities

All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by August 31, 2026.
