University College London Michelle Zalkin Scholarship 2026

The Michelle Zalkin Scholarship offers £10,000 to one exceptional student each year to pursue an MSc in Paediatrics and Child Health with a focus on child protection. Established in memory of Dr Michelle Zalkin to promote excellence in safeguarding and child protection, this scholarship supports exceptional students with a proven interest in child protection to undertake the UCL MSc in Paediatrics and Child Health. Michelle achieved distinction on the course and dedicated her career to child protection before her untimely death in 2013. Her family and friends created this award to inspire the next generation to continue her work.

Requirements for University College London (UCL) Masters Scholarship Qualification

• Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence and a commitment to child protection.
• Applicants must have an unconditional or conditional offer to study the MSc in Paediatrics and Child Health programme for entry in September 2026 for full-time or modular/flexible. Applicants from other courses at UCL are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
• Applicants can be based in the UK or Overseas.

Interview date, Process and Venue for University College London (UCL) Masters Scholarship

• Students will be assessed on the basis of the scholarship application form and in particular on their personal statement, as well as their original application for the course. The selected student will be academically strong and have a focus on child protection in their daily work. An interview will be conducted to assess commitment to child protection.
