Aim and Benefits of University College London (UCL) Bachelors

  • The award will be £1,000 per year for the duration of the programme and is subject to satisfactory academic progress. The bursary is awarded to cover maintenance costs.
  • Awardees can request an advance payment of £200 to help with transition costs.

Requirements for University College London (UCL) Bachelors Qualification

  • Applicants must be domiciled in the UK with Home fee status.
  • Applicants must be aged under 25 and have been classified as independent students on the grounds of estrangement by Student Finance.
  • Applicants must hold an offer of admission to UCL to study a full-time undergraduate degree for the 2021/22 intake OR be currently studying a full-time undergraduate degree at UCL.

The Estranged Student Bursary is one of the schemes that make up the Undergraduate Funding and Access Awards (UGFA) and applicants are encouraged to apply for the bursary via this route. Further information can be found on the UGFA webpage.

Students may also be identified by the UCL Widening Participation and Student Funding Office on the basis of their application through UCAS and may be contacted directly by UCL.
