University of Birmingham 2025 Bangladesh Postgraduate Chancellor's Scholarship

The University of Birmingham is pleased to announce the Bangladesh Postgraduate Chancellor's Scholarship  award of £10,000 for select Bangladesh students applying for entry to a postgraduate taught programme at the University starting September 2025.

These are joint awards with our local representatives who will be invited to send nominations of the students to the university based on their academic scores.

The scholarships will be awarded to the highest performing students starting their University of Birmingham programme in the 2025/2026 academic year.

Aim and Benefits of Bangladesh Postgraduate Chancellor's Scholarship

The scholarship is 6 x £10,000 towards tuition fees of a full-time postgraduate taught degree programme at the University of Birmingham UK campus, starting September 2025.

Requirements for Bangladesh Postgraduate Chancellor's Scholarship Qualification

In order to be eligible, candidates must:

  • Have received an offer and selected the University of Birmingham as their firm choice for a full-time postgraduate taught programme starting September 2025, at Birmingham’s UK campus.
  • Meet the academic conditions of their offer to the programme.
  • Be classed as domiciled in Bangladesh.  
  • Be classed by the University as an overseas fee payer for tuition fee purposes and be able to pay the outstanding tuition fees not covered by the scholarship.
  • Have paid their £3,000 deposit by the deadline stated in their offer letter from Admissions Office (note the recipient of the full scholarship will be able to request and receive a refund of their deposit payment after enrolment).
  • Have sufficient funds to cover the full cost of living at the University of Birmingham, plus any visa/travel expenses associated with studying in the UK.
  • Start their studies at the University in September 2025 (the scholarship award may not be deferred).
  • Be registered with, and have their postgraduate study application attached to, one of our local representatives listed below in alphabetical order.
  • Submit your expression of interest in the scholarship to the local representative by the deadline; 30 June 2025.
  • Upon enrolment in September 2025, pay their net tuition fees for the academic year by 1 November, immediately following enrolment.

How to Apply

The scholarship is open for a limited period and early programme application is recommended to ensure eligibility for consideration and to maximise the chances of success.

To apply for the scholarship students will need to have accepted an offer from the University of Birmingham, have selected Birmingham as their firm choice. Be registered with, and have their postgraduate taught study application attached to, one of our local representatives listed below.

Only under exceptional circumstances in which the University is unable to choose an awardee based solely on academic merit (for instance, if two candidates have identical grades) will applicants be asked to attend an online interview.

Decisions will be announced in July/ early August and the scholarships will be awarded upon the students’ enrolment in September 2025.
