About University of Bristol

Before the University of Bristol, there was University College, Bristol University College, Bristol existed from 1876 to 1909 and was the precursor to the University of Bristol. Its history can be traced back to the efforts of John Percival, headmaster of Clifton College, to press for the establishment of such an institution. In 1872, Percival wrote to the Oxford colleges observing that the provinces lacked a university culture. Aim and Benefits of University of Bristol Think Big Award

Scholarship awards for postgraduate international students are valued at

• £6,500,
• £13,000 and
• £26,000

Per year and can only be used towards the cost of tuition fees.

Applicants may also be eligible to receive a £3,000 living cost bursary during their first year of study.

Requirements for University of Bristol Think Big Award Qualification

You can apply if you:

• are classed as an overseas student for fee purposes
• have applied to start any one-year, full-time master's programme, or one of our eligible two-year programmes, (MSc Social Work and MA Law), starting in September 2024. 

You do not need to have an offer to study before submitting an international scholarship application.

Interview date, Process and Venue for University of Bristol Think Big Award

Successful applicants will be contacted on or before Friday 24 May 2024.

Unsuccessful applicants will be notified shortly after.
