The University will offer 3 awards for entry into academic year 2025-2026. The award offers tuition fee and living cost support to those most in need who are seeking asylum.
For students commencing study at the University in session 2025-2026 the University will offer four undergraduate scholarships (excludes students who already hold a 1st undergraduate degree).

Each scholarship will cover the 'home' rate of fee and provide living costs per annum equivalent to the UKRI rate (for guidance, in 2024-2025, this was £19,237).
To be eligible for this Scholarship you should have applied for admission to an undergraduate degree programme at The University of Edinburgh commencing in 2025-2026 and received confirmation from the Fees and Student Support Team that your fees status has been updated to home student-Scotland fee rate (Asylum Seeker)

Within the application form, you will be asked the following questions which you must answer using up to 250 words per question:
As part of your application, you will also be required to email a supporting statement from your legal representative or the charitable body representing your case in the UK. Please clearly state in the title it is for an Asylum Seeker Scholarship. This supporting statement should provide details of your current immigration status and an indication of timescales for the Home Office decision on your asylum claim.
