University of Essex GREAT Scholarship 2026

In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, the University of Essex is proud to be able to offer two (2) University of Essex - GREAT Scholarships for applicants from Kenya and Egypt. The GREAT Scholarships 2026 programme, launched by the British Council together with over 60 UK universities, supports postgraduate students from Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam in accessing world-class UK higher education opportunities.

Aim and Benefits of University of Essex Masters Scholarship

The University of Essex - GREAT Scholarships 2026-27 are valued at £10,000, which must be used towards the cost of tuition fees for:

• Any one-year taught Master's (MA, MSc) degree offered at the University of Essex for applicants from Kenya and Egypt.

Requirements for University of Essex Masters Scholarship Qualification

• You must hold a passport from either Kenya or Egypt
• Be classed as an overseas fee payer and entirely self-funded*. *Students receiving a repayable loan to fund their studies will be considered as self-funded.
• Hold an offer (conditional) to start a one-year full time taught masters degree (MA or MSc) starting in October 2026.
• Have a background of extracurricular activities relating to your subject area.
• Only one scholarship award can be made per student and the award cannot normally be held in conjunction with other University of Essex awards.

How to Apply

• Please complete the application form (.docx) and submit to [email protected]  by 31 May 2026. Successful applicants will be notified on or before 30 June 2026.
