University of Essex MA Refugee Care Referral Bursary 2026

The University is offering ten £100 referral bursaries to current University of Essex students or alumni of the MA Refugee Care course, who refer an individual (prospective student) who subsequently enrols on the online course in October 2026. The £100 bursary will be offered in the form of an Amazon voucher.

Requirements for University of Essex Master's Scholarship Qualification

The referrer must:

• Be a MA Refugee Care, University of Essex, current student or alumni.
• Provide the full name and email address of the referred individual to [email protected], no later than 09 October 2026. Note: The referrer should only share details of an individual where they have explicit consent from the individual (the prospective student) to provide contact data for the purpose of this service.
• Be contactable via email up to 27 November 2026 to provide up-to-date contact information for receipt of the award. The referred individual (prospective student) must:
  • Apply to the University of Essex via the direct application form, further information available online: https://www.essex.ac.uk/postgraduate/masters/applying-to-essex
  • Register for the MA Refugee Care online programme, at the University of Essex in October 2026.
  • Confirm to [email protected] the name and email address of the referrer by 30 October 2026.
  • Be a new student to the University of Essex, registering for the first time in October 2026

Other terms & Conditions:

• There is no limit on the number of referrals an individual referrer can make.
• The bursary will be limited to 10 referral awards, which will be awarded on a first-come first-served basis, based on the date of referral via email.
• This award can be held in conjunction with other University of Essex scholarships or bursaries, apart from any other referral awards.

Students who are not eligible

The following students are NOT eligible for this award regardless of meeting the above criteria:

• This scholarship award does not apply to deferred entry. Where a referred individual defers entry to the following academic year, the award will be withdrawn, and the referrer will be considered again in line with any bursary terms and conditions that apply in the new proposed year of entry.

Interview date, Process and Venue for University of Essex Master's Scholarship

Award of the bursary will be made by 27 November 2026 via email, based on the terms and conditions above, including:

• Receipt of the referral to [email protected] by the referrer before 9 October 2026;
• Registration of the new student to the MA Refugee Care course in October 2026;
• Confirmation from the referred student of the source of the referral by 30 October 2026.

How to Apply

• Individuals can refer a student to the MA Refugee Care course by emailing their full name and email address to [email protected] no later than 9 October 2026.
• Confirmation of receipt of the referral will be provided by return email.
