Nominations for Gunnar Svedbergs pris (en: the Gunnar Svedberg Award) 2025 are now open! The prize is awarded to a well-deserving student who, in the spirit of Gunnar Svedberg, has worked for the benefit of the University of Gothenburg's students across the university.
Gunnar Svedbergs pris (en: the Gunnar Svedberg Award) was established in 2006 as a farewell gift to the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Gothenburg, Gunnar Svedberg. The prize is awarded annually at the university's doctoral award ceremony and is named after Svedberg for the student focus and care he showed during his term of office.

Anyone with a connection to the University of Gothenburg is entitled to nominate for the award. Anyone studying (or recently graduated) at the University of Gothenburg can be nominated.
Nominate a well-deserving student! A well-deserving student is a student who, in the spirit of Gunnar Svedberg, has worked for the benefit of the University of Gothenburg's students at the entire university. It is particularly meritorious if the winner's efforts have favoured collaboration between students in different parts of the university.
Members of the jury, the Board of the University of Gothenburg student unions (GUS) and the Board of the University of Gothenburg as well as their related parties cannot be awarded the prize.
Nominations must be received by the President of the University of Gothenburg student unions no later than 1 June 2025. Nominations should be sent to [email protected]. Mark the email with ‘Gunnar Svedbergs pris 2025’.
